Sclerotherapy & Vein Treatments

Say goodbye to unsightly veins with our advanced, non-surgical vein treatment options at Atlanta MediSpa. Whether you’re dealing with bulging varicose veins or fine, web-like spider veins, our expert medical team can help you restore smooth, even-toned skin.

Varicose Veins

Varicose veins appear as dark, swollen, and twisted veins—commonly found on the legs and ankles. These are caused by weakened or damaged vein valves that allow blood to pool. Over time, they can become more prominent and even painful. A personalized consultation is required to assess severity and determine the most effective treatment plan.

Spider Veins

Also known as telangiectasia, spider veins are smaller than varicose veins and often appear red, blue, or purple in color. They typically form on the face (cheeks, nose), thighs, and lower legs. Though painless, they can worsen and become varicose over time.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a safe, quick, and virtually painless solution for both spider and small varicose veins. A tiny needle is used to inject a saline or glycerin-based sclerosing solution into the affected vein. The solution causes the vein to collapse and fade from view. Most treatments take just 15–30 minutes, and multiple sessions may be needed for larger varicose veins, while spider veins typically resolve in one treatment.

Laser Vein Treatments

For veins too small to inject, we offer laser-based solutions like BBL (BroadBand Light) or YAG lasers. These technologies target the vessel using thermal energy, causing it to safely collapse while leaving surrounding tissue unharmed. Patients describe the sensation as a gentle snap, similar to a rubber band. Several sessions may be required for optimal results.

Post-Treatment Care for Sclerotherapy & Vein Treatments

To ensure the best possible outcome after your vein treatment, please follow these aftercare instructions:

Avoid for 2–3 weeks post-treatment:

  • Hot baths and saunas

  • Strenuous exercise

  • Prolonged sun exposure

  • Aspirin or blood-thinning medications (unless otherwise directed)

  • Crossing your legs or sleeping in positions that put pressure on the treatment area

Common side effects may include:

  • Redness or brown patches around injection sites

  • Mild swelling or temporary vein hardening

  • Occasional bruising or ulceration (rare)

These symptoms are usually temporary and resolve on their own. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled one month after treatment to assess your progress and determine if additional sessions are needed.
