Permanent Hair Removal with Electrolysis in Marietta, GA

At Atlanta MediSpa & Surgery Center, we’re proud to offer electrolysis, the only FDA-approved method of permanent hair removal. Whether you’re tired of shaving, waxing, or temporary laser sessions, electrolysis provides a lasting solution that safely removes unwanted hair from nearly any area of the body. Our skilled electrologist uses advanced technology and sterilized techniques to ensure each treatment is effective, comfortable, and customized to your skin and hair type.

Common Causes of Excess Hair Growth

Unwanted hair growth, also known as hirsutism, can be caused by genetics, hormones, or certain medications. Clients with Mediterranean or Middle Eastern heritage may naturally experience thicker or more noticeable facial and body hair. Hormonal changes, such as pregnancy, menopause, or conditions like PCOS, can also increase hair growth. If we suspect an underlying condition, we’ll refer you to your physician for further evaluation before or alongside treatment.

Treatment Plans and Lasting Results

The number of treatments needed varies by area, hair density, and your individual hair growth cycle. Because each follicle must be treated during its active growth phase, a series of appointments ensures the best results. Over time, hair becomes finer and sparser until it is permanently gone. Once a treated area is fully cleared, only occasional touch-ups may be needed to maintain your smooth, hair-free skin.

How Electrolysis Works

Electrolysis targets each individual hair follicle with a fine, sterile probe that delivers a low-level electrical current. This current destroys the papilla—the growth center of the hair—so that it can no longer produce new hair. Once treated, the follicle is permanently disabled, meaning results are lasting. Unlike laser hair removal, which targets pigment and may not be effective on lighter hair or certain skin tones, electrolysis works on all hair colors and all skin types.

Comfort, Safety, and What to Expect

During electrolysis, most clients feel only a brief warmth or mild tingling sensation as the current is applied. Our electrologist uses the “Blend Method,” which allows for adjustable comfort settings to match your sensitivity level. Temporary redness may appear after treatment but typically fades within the hour. Electrolysis is a safe and gentle option for even the most delicate areas—performed by a state-licensed and highly trained professional using sterile, single-use probes for every client.

Electrolysis vs. Laser Hair Removal

While both services help reduce unwanted hair, the difference lies in permanence and precision. Laser hair removal offers long-lasting reduction and is ideal for treating large areas quickly. Electrolysis, on the other hand, is the only method approved by the FDA for permanent removal and can target even fine, light, or gray hairs that lasers cannot. Many clients at Atlanta MediSpa choose to combine both options—using laser for large areas and electrolysis for precision touch-ups or stubborn regrowth.
